1 Space Blanket + God’s love =
On Saturday we met a young man who warmly shook our hands and thanked us, (please insert the Read more link here) saying that some years ago, he had got drunk and embarrassed himself in front of his pregnant girlfriend by wetting his pants.
One of our teams wrapped him in a space blanket; the effect of which was that he’s been off drugs ever since despite having been on them since age 13 and growing up in a family which regularly took drugs.
He’s also still with the same girl – WOW! The power of a space blanket when mixed with God’s love. Thankyou Lord!
Just wanted to share an experience with you, after cleaning up a young lady a little worse for the wear, her brother caught hold of my hand and started to tell me about how much he appreciated us and our work.
He explained that over a year ago he had passed out in the street on drugs. One of our teams picked him up and waited with him until he could manage alone. They talked with him and he asked them some questions about God. He said he spent quite a long time with this team.
The morning after he had woken up with a determination never to do drugs again (!). He succeeded and as a result of the money that he’d therefore saved, now had enough money to go to Australia, a dream he’d had for many years.
It’s those experiences, and the many hugs / handshakes that make our time spent with people so worthwhile.
